Ama Serwah Genfi, known professionally as Amaarae, is a Ghanaian-American singer, songwriter, and producer known for her genre-blending sound and ethereal voice. She broke out with her 2020 debut The Angel You Don’t Know, a bold fusion of alté, pop, R&B, and Afrobeat.

With over 1.4 billion global streams, Amaarae rose to global fame after the viral success of SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY (feat. Kali Uchis). Her acclaimed 2023 album Fountain Baby solidified her as a pop innovator. In 2023, she became the first Ghanaian American to perform on NPR’s Tiny Desk, followed by a historic solo set at Coachella in 2025. Her new album Black Star arrives August 8, 2025.
