Tyla Laura Seethal, known mononymously as Tyla, is a South African singer and songwriter shaping a sleek blend of pop, R&B and amapiano. Born in Edenvale and raised in Johannesburg, she broke out with “Getting Late” (2019) and became a global sensation with the 2023 smash Water, earning the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance and becoming the first South African soloist in over five decades to enter the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Her self titled debut album Tyla (2024) brought her global acclaim, blending her signature “popiano” style with chart ready hits.
